Welcome! I’m Liz McCraine, and I write YA fiction filled with mystery, danger, and just enough romance to make your heart race.
My love for stories began in the most fitting place imaginable: my family’s haunted ancestral home in New England. Between the creaking floors, slanted doorframes, and the occasional unexplained flicker of light, I grew up with a healthy respect for things that go bump in the night. Add in my great-great-grandmother Elizabeth’s rumored ghost—and my brothers’ relentless attempts to scare me—and it’s no wonder I turned to books for comfort. Stories became my refuge, my distraction, and eventually, my passion.
Though my extended family still lives in that wonderfully eerie old house, my own life has taken me far beyond its shadowed hallways. I’ve lived in Ecuador, Germany, and across the United States, gathering experiences and inspiration along the way. These days, I make my home in Montana with my bustling family of six humans, multiple barn cats, horses, sheep, and one delightfully mischievous Labrador named Luna.
As for my books—suspense will always be my first love. How could it not be, given my childhood? But I also venture into fantasy, as readers of my Kingdom of Aggadorn series will quickly discover. No matter the sub-genre, my YA novels share a few promises: high stakes, swoony romance, and endings that satisfy (don’t worry—I never kill off the love interest).
If my stories had movie ratings, they’d land somewhere between PG and PG-13 for adventure, danger, and light romance. They’re not preschool material, but you won’t have to hide them from your parents either.
So go ahead—pick a book, settle in, and enjoy the read.
All the best,
